SUMMARY:

Our client based in the Midvaal/Klipriver is looking at recruiting a Mechanical Design Draughtsman.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

Qualifications: Relevant draughting qualification advantageous.
Professional Registrations: Not required.
Software: Microsoft Office (proficient)(excel, word, outlook), Nesting Software (any but not critical), any 3D design package (AutoCAD and Inventor preferred).
Proficient in both English and Afrikaans. (Crucial)

Responsibilities:

Reports to engineering manager.
Product development and design.
Take on complete projects from start to finish including special projects.
Load distributions and general arrangement drawings.
Assist in implementing drawing standards/processes/documentation etc.
Maintain products/databases/standards/administration etc.
Assist production and repair departments as needed.
Create nestings for plasma from time to time.
Assist with day-to-day requirements.
Data capturing and filing.
Bills of materials.
Proper planning and time management. The successful candidate will be expected to function successfully on their own and must be a quick learner.
Maintain good interdepartmental communications and relations.

Excellent communication, numeracy, and computer literacy skills.
Identifying problems and implement preventative strategies to minimize risk.
Being able to develop good working relationships and trust with co-workers.
Strong problem-solving skills, analytic ability and be very detail oriented.
Working well with many different departments and external suppliers.
Always keeping the end-user/customer in mind.
Being results and deadline driven.
Proficient in MS Office and CAD software.
