POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose

To safely and efficiently operate a Code 14 truck with a drawbar trailer, ensuring timely and accurate delivery/collection of goods while maintaining compliance with road safety legislation, company policies, and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operate a Code 14 truck with drawbar trailer for long-distance and/or local deliveries.
Perform vehicle inspections (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip).
Ensure correct coupling and uncoupling of the drawbar trailer.
Secure loads in accordance with company and legal standards.
Adhere strictly to road traffic regulations and company safety rules.
Deliver and collect goods as per delivery schedule and instructions.
Complete all relevant documentation accurately (PODs, trip sheets, logbooks).

Minimum Requirements

Valid Code 14 (EC) Driver’s Licence.
Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) – Goods.
Minimum 2-5 years' experience driving Code 14 vehicles.

Skills & Competencies

Excellent driving skills and safety awareness.
Ability to reverse, manoeuvre, and operate drawbar combination efficiently.
Good communication and basic literacy/numeracy skills.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
