The successful candidate will be involved in the design, programming, commissioning, and management of industrial automation and process control systems within mining and mineral processing environments.
The role requires strong experience in PLC and HMI programming, control panel design, commissioning of process equipment, and project execution within industrial plants.

The successful candidate will be involved in the design, programming, commissioning, and management of industrial automation and process control systems within mining and mineral processing environments.
The role requires strong experience in PLC and HMI programming, control panel design, commissioning of process equipment, and project execution within industrial plants.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & Control Systems
- Design and develop industrial control panels and automation systems.
- Program, test, and commission PLC and HMI systems.
- Design, modify, and improve control systems for industrial processes.
- Develop and implement testing procedures for equipment and systems.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize existing automation systems.
- Write and modify software for process control applications.
Project & Plant Engineering
- Lead and support commissioning activities for:
- Ball mills
- Scrubbers
- Vibrating screens
- Conveyor systems
- Reagent plants
- Manage refurbishment and upgrade projects within processing plants.
- Coordinate project activities within cost and schedule constraints.
- Assist with operational management and plant optimization.
- Conduct equipment testing, fault finding, and performance analysis.
Technical & Commercial Support
- Analyse operational data and prepare technical reports.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
- Work collaboratively with operations engineers, procurement teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and quality standards.
- Provide technical consultancy and engineering support.
- Assist in the preparation of new business proposals and technical submissions.
Key Project Experience Required
- Design and commissioning of a 360 kW ball mill.
- Design, programming, and commissioning of 220 kW scrubbers.
- Commissioning of vibrating screens, scrubbers, and conveyor systems.
- Refurbishment of mineral processing and gold plants.
- Design and commissioning of reagent plants.
Minimum Requirements
- BEng / BTech / in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, or Automation Engineering.
- 3–8 years’ experience in industrial automation or process plant environments.
- Strong PLC and HMI programming experience.
- Experience with MCCs, VSDs, instrumentation, and industrial networks.
- Knowledge of mining or mineral processing operations advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting and commissioning skills.
- Ability to travel to project and mining sites when required.
- Valid driver’s license.
