SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated EC&I Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, commissioning, maintenance, and optimisation of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems across industrial and process plant environments.
This role requires a technically strong engineer with experience in electrical engineering, process control, PLC/SCADA systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure plant reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) systems for industrial and process plant applications. Produce and review electrical schematics, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, control philosophies, and technical documentation. Develop and configure PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems. Specify and integrate instrumentation, field devices, control panels, MCCs, VSDs, and electrical distribution equipment. Commission new plant installations and support plant upgrades and expansions. Perform fault finding and root cause analysis on electrical, control, and instrumentation systems. Develop preventive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime. Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, safety regulations, and company procedures. Support plant shutdowns, maintenance activities, and commissioning projects. Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, budgets, and project documentation. Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders during project execution. Provide technical support and mentoring to maintenance and operations teams. Minimum Requirements: BEng, BSc, BTech, or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related discipline. Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng), Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng), or eligibility for registration will be advantageous. Minimum 5 years' experience in an EC&I engineering role within mining, manufacturing, power generation, chemical, water treatment, or heavy industrial environments. Strong knowledge of: PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Omron or similar) SCADA and HMI systems Industrial instrumentation and process control Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) Motor Control Centres (MCCs) Low- and medium-voltage electrical systems Industrial communication networks (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet\/IP or similar) Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical design software is advantageous. Knowledge of functional safety systems and hazardous area installations is beneficial. Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites when required. Please send your cv to
