SUMMARY:
Our client, a giant in the FMCG arena, seeks an EE Finance Director, based at the Head Office in Durban. The successful candidate will drive the delivery of the Group's required financial performance, by aligning the finance function to the business objectives and providing a strategic finance leadership to the Group Directors and Senior Management.

POSITION INFO:

You will oversee the:

  • Development and execution of sourcing strategies and programs that will result in continuous cost/price reductions, counteract inflationary pressures and support overall supply requirements.
  • Implementation of the Group''s Procurement Way and related standards to ensure Procurement excellence.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • CA (SA).
  • MBA or additional relevant qualifications an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years Finance Management experience.
  • 5 years’ experience at an Operational level.
  • Strong track record of active role driving delivery of business results and business partnering experience.
  • Lead and manage significant change within the Finance function, as well as providing strong organisational leadership through operational changes and transitions.
  • Direct operational experience will be advantageous.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Develop and implement the Finance strategy within the Group that is aligned to the business finance objectives and supports the operational objectives.
  • Develop a local procurement and inventory management strategy aligned to the group procurement and country strategies.
  • Manage the planning, budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Develop and lead plans to drive down procurement spend to deliver agreed country cost savings.
  • Deliver month-end results and analytical reporting to Group Directors.
  • Generate detailed analytical insights on the overall performance and translate into practical action plans to deliver maximum value.
  • Drive organisational performance to deliver on financial objective.
  • Deliver strategic alignment of the Group’s risk and governance framework to key stakeholder requirements.
  • Work with the organisation to deliver appropriate corrective actions to mitigate known risks and governance deficiencies.
  • Lead the Shared Service Centre that provides Financial Services to various Groups.
  • Provide a strategic finance leadership to the Group through building strong, collaborative and effective working relationships with Directors and senior leadership to influence the decision making process.
  • Create business partnering finance and procurement function, able to challenge constructively and work with the organisation to deliver the initiatives.
  • Deliver maximum value to the business through collaboration with the MD and EXCO.
  • Play a prominent Leadership role for the finance and procurement functions.
  • Produce high quality, accurate, timely and compliant financial and procurement information.
  • Provide selected financial services (through SSC) to the Group/Corporate Finance division.
  • Provide a strong governance and control framework that meets stakeholder requirements and develop the business partnering finance and procurement functions that delivers continuous improvement.
  • Serve on several Boards, e.g. Audit & Risk Committees.
  • Develop capability within finance that enables the Finance team to appropriately support the Operational teams.
  • Execute staff succession and growth plan along with capability development.
  • Develop finance staff through coaching, mentoring training initiatives.

Competencies:

  • Exceptional verbal / analytical reasoning ability.
  • Proven track record of building strong collaborative and effective working relationships with senior leadership (i.e. Directors).
  • Develop finance staff through coaching, mentoring training initiatives and secondments or special projects.
