SUMMARY:
EE - SHERQ Manager 
Basic Salary = R68,000.00 + Additional travel allowance as per Hay Grade (Approximately R19,00.00) 
Based at Hammarsdale, KZN
Cell Phone Allowance
3G Allowance
Medical Aid  @ 50 % contribution (assuming that this will cover the member, spouse, and 3 kids)
Provident fund @ 7.5% on basic
Gap Cover

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

Qualifications:  

• A Bachelor of Science/Diploma in Chemistry/Engineering and related qualifications in Health and Safety, Environmental is required.

Experience:  

• 5-10 years exp in management role, in a chemical environment,
• Legislative and ISO systems knowledge pertaining to safety, health, environmental and quality, to ensure that the necessary competencies are in place to meet our customer intimacy approach, would be a distinct advantage.
• The successful candidate will have in-depth understanding of manufacturing SHERQ practices, a strategic decision-maker who has a positive, results-driven attitude, ability to handle pressure, a problem solver and a team player.
• The candidate must be able to communicate at all levels to ensure that the company understands and can align with customer and industry requirements.
• The successful candidate will have an innovative and forward-thinking outlook with cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
• An individual who is assertive, highly ethical and principle-driven with accountability and has the ability to hold others accountable.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing and controlling the entire SHERQ function as follows:
Health and Safety, Environmental, Responsible Care and Quality Assurance Management Systems
Risk Management - Identification and management of all risks faced by the company
Product Stewardship and Field Safety
Compliance and Communication with all internal/external Legislation, Regulatory Compliance and Stakeholder (Public, Customers and Corporate) Requirements
SHERQ Support and Continuous Improvement Initiatives
Facilities Management (Security, Building, Landscaping, and Clinic)
Leading, directing, and managing the SHERQ Department Team
Participate in Global SHERQ initiatives.
Managing and implementing Continuous Improvements and Projects
