SUMMARY:
Drive and maintain a safe, compliant, and sustainable working environment across the facility by implementing and managing Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) systems and processes.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

Lead on-site EHS function and ensure compliance with legal and company standards
Implement and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and global safety initiatives
Monitor and report on safety and environmental performance
Manage audits (internal & external) and corrective action plans
Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures
Support manufacturing teams with EHS guidance and best practices
Drive continuous improvement and cost-effective safety solutions
Manage training needs and promote EHS awareness across site
Ensure compliance with ISO standards and statutory requirements
Oversee risk assessments, medical surveillance, and safety systems

Requirements

NQF 6 / National Diploma in Health & Safety or related field
Minimum 5 years EHS experience in a manufacturing / food production environment
Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards
Solid understanding of South African EHS legislation
Experience with audits, risk management, and incident investigations
Proficient in MS Office and SAP
