Our client, a Global Strategy / Management Consulting firm who has built solid sector capabilities is currently expanding their emerging energy sector advisory capabilities in South Africa and across the African Continent.

They are interested in engaging experienced individuals OR small teams (2-3 people) to help accelerate and grow. This team will bring both the ability to deliver specialist energy sector advisory assignments, but also work closely with the company’s leadership and business development team to drive business acquisition.

Candidate(s) will bring with them an existing book of work and/or a demonstrable track record of growing a portfolio of work with clients in Africa.

Main Purpose of the role:

Focus on expanding existing client relationships in the energy sector targeting; International Development Finance Institutions, National Ministries of Energy & Utilities, Regional Power Pools, Municipalities (in South Africa) and Corporations.

We are particularly interested in individuals coming with experience in the following domains:

• Energy policy, regulation and strategy
• Energy fund, facility and program design
• Project preparation and feasibility studies
• Financial and economic analysis, tariff development and transaction advisory

Qualification and Experience Required:

• Solid and proven track record with relevant business network ideally gained within Africa and / or Europe / Middle East
• Relevant Post-graduate degree
• A strong thematic focus on and academic grounding in environmental sustainability, especially climate change (including exposure to both climate adaptation and climate mitigation issues).
