Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic - Excavators

Qualified Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic with minimum 5 years’ post Trade experience (electrical and hydraulic trouble shooting and fault finding) preferably with Construction Excavator knowledge, required to provide field service and specialist support to dealer networks and end-users.

Minimum requirements:

• Qualified Artisan – Mechanical / Electrical / Hydraulic essential
• Engineering Certificate essential
• Minimum 5 years’ Earth Moving with Electrical and Hydraulic experience essential
• Minimum 5 years trouble shooting and fault finding experience essential
• Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities:

• Product support and technical support to Dealer Network and clients
• Assist Dealer with technical enquiries and technical problems
• Investigate Field Information Reports (FIR) to identify notifications
• Determine cause of problem and submit FIR to factory for customer assistance and feedback
• Receive and enforce service bulletin instructions to ensure compliance
• Provide technical support (verbal and physical) to ensure continuous operations
• Provide technical support to external customers within SA and conduct continuous monitoring of service and product quality
• Regular site visits to advise clients and dealers of possible problems
• Warranty claims – assist Warranty Coordinator with technical queries to judge warranty claims
• Perform 1^st judge function on warranties
• Conduct trend analysis on all warranty claims to identify possible breakdown trends
