Location: George Employment Type: Full-Time Industry: Industrial Electrical | Agricultural Electrical | Pumps & Irrigation WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a specialist electrical business to find a practical and hardworking Electrical Assistant with previous hands-on electrical experience. No formal electrical qualification is required for this position. What matters most is practical experience and a willingness to work within a specialised industrial and agricultural electrical environment . The role is particularly suited to someone who has assisted with electrical work involving pumps, irrigation pivots, motors, VSDs, starter panels and control wiring , rather than someone whose experience has only been in domestic or residential electrical work. About the Role The Electrical Assistant will work alongside qualified and experienced Electricians, supporting electrical installations, maintenance, repairs and fault-finding across agricultural and industrial client sites. This is a hands-on position where you’ll assist with specialised electrical systems used by farmers and industrial clients. You don’t need to be a qualified Electrician, but you should already have some practical electrical experience and be comfortable using tools, working on-site and assisting with electrical equipment. The business is willing to develop and train someone who demonstrates the right aptitude, work ethic and willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities Assist qualified Electricians with agricultural and industrial electrical work. Support electrical installations, maintenance and repair work. Assist with starter panels, control panels and associated components. Assist with control wiring under appropriate supervision. Support electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting activities. Assist with irrigation pivot electrical systems. Prepare tools, equipment and materials required for jobs. Help maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Follow electrical and workplace safety procedures. Work at agricultural and industrial client sites as required. Support the electrical team wherever needed to ensure work is completed efficiently. Develop technical knowledge and practical capability through on-the-job training. What You’ll Bring No formal electrical qualification is required. Previous practical experience assisting with electrical work. Ideally, exposure to industrial and\/or agricultural electrical environments . Basic understanding of electrical equipment and safe working practices. Practical experience using electrical and general hand tools. A hands-on, technically minded approach. Willingness to learn from qualified and experienced Electricians. Ability to follow instructions and work safely under supervision. Reliable and hardworking approach. Good problem-solving ability. Comfortable working in practical, field-based environments. Willingness to develop specialist experience beyond standard domestic electrical work. Nice to Have Previous experience working with pumps . Experience with starter panels or control panels. Basic control-wiring experience.
