Specialising in machine automation? A leading OEM client is hiring an Electrical Design Engineer (EPLAN P8) to design and deliver complex packaging and production equipment.

POSITION INFO:
Job & Company Description As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and support of electrical systems for automated machinery, including power distribution, control systems, and machine safety. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality designs aligned with international standards and customer requirements. This role offers exposure to end-to-end project execution, from concept through to commissioning. Education National Diploma, BTech, or Degree in: Electrical Engineering Mechatronic Engineering Electrical & Electronic Engineering Job Experience & Skills Required Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in industrial electrical design Proven experience designing systems for machinery, automation, or manufacturing environments Strong hands-on experience using EPLAN Electric P8 Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in EPLAN Electric P8 Experience in: Electrical schematics and control panel design PLC-based automation systems Industrial control systems Electrical documentation (BOMs, cable schedules, I\/O lists) Strong understanding of: Electrical power distribution Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and servo systems Machine safety standards (ISO 13849, IEC 60204, CE, UKCA) Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings Advantageous: Experience in OEM, machinery, or automation environments Exposure to packaging, material handling, or conveyor systems Familiarity with PLC platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron, or Delta Knowledge of safety PLCs, fieldbus systems, commissioning, and FAT processes Exposure to ERP or engineering document management systems Key Responsibilities Design electrical power, control, and safety systems for automated machinery Develop full design packages using EPLAN P8 (schematics, layouts, BOMs) Select and size electrical components such as drives, relays, sensors, and controllers Ensure designs align with project specifications and international standards Design and implement machine safety systems Support manufacturing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities Maintain accurate engineering documentation and standards Apply If you are an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with EPLAN P8 expertise and a background in automation or machinery, we would like to hear from you.
