Electrical Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Agri-Processing Industry, has an EE opportunity for an Electrical Engineer available to be based in the Empangeni, KZN area.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• BSc Electrical Engineering / B. Tech Electrical Engineering
• GCC (factories) would be advantageous
• Good knowledge of electricity generation plant, electrical distribution, fault levels and protection grading.
• Good knowledge of VSD’s, PLC’s and associated process applications.
• Good knowledge of maintenance and safety aspects of MV and LV distribution in MCC’s
• Sound knowledge of maintenance and capital budgets preparation
• Sound knowledge of the OHS Act and relevant SANS requirements
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a heavy industry environment, preferably in a Sugar Mill.
• Exposure and understanding of mechanical plant and equipment
• Understanding and interpretation of OHS Act and relevant SANS requirements
• Electrical testing and programming off protection systems
• Electrical testing, analysis and fault finding (Root cause analysis)
• Understanding of electrical engineering standards and practices
• Understanding of electrical energy conservation
• Electrical and mechanical projects management
• Understanding of CMMS

KPAs:

• Oversee all electrical projects, from conceptualization, implementation and commissioning, ensuring projects meet electrical and construction regulations
• Carry out problem solving, root cause analysis, provision of solutions and preventative measures
• Oversee plant inspections, maintenance programmes as well as testing and programming off all protection systems in the plant
• Ensure efficient electrical generation, distribution and usage in the plant
• Ensure the technical and operational processes are monitored, deviations addressed and corrective measures introduced to curb non-conformance, poor quality and performance enabling the functionality to deliver in accordance with the laid down objectives, procedures and cost parameters
• Monitor the performance of the reliability and maintenance planning team
• Continuous Improvement Projects
• Monitors compliance with manufacturing standards, Food Safety and Hygiene regulations and controls, quality assurance procedures and the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
