Electrical Engineer: Reticulation

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer – Reticulation and Overhead Lines to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of low and medium voltage electrical reticulation systems for residential, commercial, or industrial developments.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Design and layout of LV/MV electrical reticulation systems (urban, rural, and industrial)
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports
• Conduct site inspections and technical assessments
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and utility stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with local and national electrical regulations and safety standards
• Liaise with municipalities and utility service providers for approvals
• Prepare cost estimates and tender documentation, and manage contractors on-site

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSc / BEng)
• Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng registration (or working toward registration)
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in electrical reticulation design
• Proficient in AutoCAD, ReticMaster, or similar design tools
• Strong knowledge of SANS, NRS, and municipal standards
• Valid driver’s license and own transport

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and coordination abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience working with Eskom, municipalities, or Developers
