Electrical Technician – Metering & Technical Audits

Our client, a specialist in metering solutions and energy management, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to join their growing technical team. This role is ideal for a qualified electrician with experience in electrical metering, system diagnostics, and a passion for solving technical challenges on-site.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Conduct comprehensive technical audits on commercial and residential properties
• Investigate and assess under-recoveries (where less electricity is billed than expected) from a technical viewpoint
• Create accurate technical diagrams and drawings of metering reticulation systems on-site
• Install and configure electrical metering systems, including meters and current transformers (CTs)
• Analyse data to calculate or forecast potential recovery figures and support billing accuracy
• Manage and monitor inventory and stock related to metering equipment and installations
• Handle general administrative tasks including detailed technical reporting, maintenance logs, and data capturing
• Make smart, technical recommendations to improve system efficiency and recovery

What We’re Looking For:

• Matric certificate and a minimum N4 Electrical qualification
• Qualified Electrician with at least 2 years’ experience specifically in metering installations and diagnostics
• Solid experience installing, troubleshooting, and documenting metering setups (including CTs)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel – able to analyse technical data and write clear, concise reports
• Excellent time management skills and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines
• Valid driver’s license with no endorsements – willing to travel to various client sites
• Strong planning and organisational skills with a proactive, hands-on approach
• Professional communication skills – client-facing confidence and attention to detail is key
