Electrical and Instrumentation Technician

POSITION INFO:

Provide advanced technical support for Digital Farming (DF) and related product lines
Install, maintain, and repair electrical and automation systems in greenhouse environments
Troubleshoot and resolve technical faults to ensure efficient system operation
Commission, calibrate, and test newly installed systems
Maintain detailed and accurate service documentation
Adhere to safety regulations, codes, and company procedures
Work closely with engineers and project teams for timely issue resolution

Skills & Experience
Over 3 years of hands-on experience in a control systems role
Strong working knowledge and practical experience with PLC systems and VSDs, including installation, troubleshooting, and optimization
Proficient with PLCs, VFDs, and related industrial automation systems
Skilled in reading and interpreting technical schematics, diagrams, and manuals

Qualifications
BTech or Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a certified Electrician/ Instrumentation Trade Test (wireman’s licence is advantageous)
Valid driver’s license
Valid passport (required for travel across South Africa and the SADC region)
