Electronic Design Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client has a vacancy for a Electronic Design Engineer to come and design electronic circuit boards for products to meet performance, form, fit and function while maintaining manufacturability and minimising costs.

POSITION INFO:

KEY DUTIES

• Design electronic circuit boards for products and test equipment;
• Using CAD systems to optimise circuit layout;
• Manage component libraries according to the required standards;
• Manage development projects to meet the required specifications on time and within budget;
• Arrange and conduct regular project update meetings with the Engineering Manager;
• Collaborate with Procurement and Finance for component cost estimates and costing of the final product;
• Collaborate with the development team and quality management to ensure designs are feasible and meet the required standards set by customers;
• Collaborate closely with the Industrial and Mechanical designers on the form, fit, function and aesthetics of the final products;
• Prepare test plans and test procedures for electronic systems;
• Develop and build prototypes to test;
• Test and verify that all designs work according to defined specifications;
• Record and evaluate testing data, altering designs as necessary to meet performance requirements;
• Ensure that designs are certified where necessary;

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering;
• Minimum 5 years experience in electronic design;
• In-depth knowledge of Eagle CAD, Fusion 360 and/or other electrical and mechanical CAD software;
• Experience in aerospace or other standards and process driven industries;
• Investigative mind inclined toward developing practical solutions to real-world problems;
• Impeccable attention to detail;
• Ability to plan, schedule, collaborate and problem solve effectively;
• Preference will be given to EE candidates.
