Electronic Design Engineer (Robotics) - Olifantsfontein

SUMMARY:
To Design Electronic Circuit Boards for LiDAR products to meet performance, form, fit and function while maintaining manufacturability and minimising costs.

POSITION INFO:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

● Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering;

● Minimum 5 years’ experience in Electronic Design;

● In-depth knowledge of Eagle CAD, Fusion 360 and/or other electrical and mechanical CAD

   software

● Experience with Drones / Robotics or Aerospace Products ESSENTIAL

DUTIES:

● Design electronic circuit boards for products and test equipment;

● Using CAD systems to optimize circuit layout;

● Manage component libraries

● Manage development projects to meet the required specifications on time and within budget;

● Arrange and conduct regular project update meetings with the Engineering Manager;

● Collaborate with the development team and quality management to ensure designs are feasible

   and meet the required standards set by customers;

● Collaborate closely with the Industrial and Mechanical designers on the form, fit, function and

    Aesthetics of the final products;

● Prepare test plans and test procedures for electronic systems;

● Develop and build prototypes to test;

● Test and verify that all designs work according to defined specifications;

● Record and evaluate testing data, altering designs as necessary to meet performance

   requirements;

● Ensure that designs are certified where necessary;

● Select optimal components and manufacturing processes;

● Ensure that all outputs in terms of BOM’s, drawings, CAM files etc. are correctly produced to the

    Standards determined

● Consult with external providers during manufacturing, advising them on design specifications

● Provide technical support in the design and development of electronic systems;

● Provide technical support and after sales service to customers as needed;

● Research latest technologies to improve product performance;

● Compliance with the Quality Management System;

● Compliance with Safety, Health & Environmental policies
