SUMMARY:

Electronic design engineer required with solid embedded skills. Hardware and software development at international company involved with complete design manufacturing and reselling. Ideal applicant will become part of the R&D team to develop automation, access control and electronic devices for building automation.

Hands on development engineer doing hardware, software and testing. Opportunity to view own product manufacturing.

POSITION INFO:
Position: Electronic Engineer
Location: Cape Town

International Client. International leader in the development and manufacturing of automation and access control inclusive of building Automation. International they do development work of smart living systems of home automation. Design, Quality Manufacturing of Products and reselling for the local market. Reseller of imported products from various branches in SA.

E&D Recruiters assist the client to find an electronic design engineer to join the R&D team. Main purpose will be to design electronics hardware and firmware for new and existing products.

Qualification:

Sc. Eng./B.Eng./ Engineering or higher required

Skills Required:

Electronics design
Firmware (C, Python)
PCB layout
Experience conforming to SANS/IEC standards
Test design
Excellent communication and documentation skills

Responsibilities:

Embedded design
Design of high volume and low-cost PCBs
Do modeling and prototyping of new designs to test their viability before undergoing production.
Created custom test jigs
Write Microchip firmware in C and Python scripts on Raspberry Pi.
Troubleshooting hardware issues
Research and design concept formation for new projects and also improving on old and outdated products.
Working in a team to get time critical tasks completed within the required deadlines
