We are seeking an experienced Electronic Engineer to join a leading OEM specialising in the design and manufacture of world-class underground mining machinery. This is an exciting opportunity to develop advanced electronic control systems, embedded technologies, machine automation, and safety-critical solutions for demanding mining applications. About the Role As an Electronic Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, integration, and support of electronic systems used on underground mining equipment. Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will contribute throughout the entire product lifecycle-from concept and development through testing, commissioning, and continuous product improvement. Key Responsibilities Design and develop electronic control systems for underground mining machinery. Develop and validate embedded electronic hardware and firmware. Design, test and troubleshoot analogue and digital electronic circuits. Integrate sensors, actuators, CAN Bus networks, PLCs, HMIs and industrial communication systems. Support machine automation and control system development. Develop electronic architectures for new machine platforms. Perform PCB testing, hardware verification and system validation. Conduct laboratory testing, field trials and machine commissioning. Investigate and resolve electronic hardware and software faults. Prepare technical documentation, specifications and engineering reports. Ensure compliance with mining regulations, EMC standards and functional safety requirements. Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Software and Systems Engineers throughout development projects. Provide technical support to manufacturing, service teams and customers. Minimum Requirements BEng\/BSc Electronic Engineering (or equivalent). Experience in electronic product development or industrial electronic systems. Experience designing embedded electronic systems. Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics. Experience with microcontrollers and embedded C\/C++ is advantageous. Experience with CAN Bus, J1939, RS485, Ethernet, Modbus or similar communication protocols. Ability to interpret electrical schematics and electronic circuit diagrams. Experience with electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analysers and multimeters. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Experience within mining equipment, heavy machinery, automotive, defence or industrial automation environments would be highly advantageous.
