Electronics Technician - JHB South

POSITION INFO:

Key performance areas for this position will include the following:
• Plan, organise and control all relevant Electrical and Electronic Engineering work for
Artisans and other personnel within the department.
• Perform calibration on various PLCs and other electronic control systems.
• Ensure that all planned maintenance work, related to Electronics, is carried out efficiently
within time limits provided.
• Research equipment and component needs, sources, competitive prices, delivery times
and ongoing operational costs.
• Test electronics units, using standard test equipment, and analyse results to evaluate
performance and determine need for adjustment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for
assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components.
• Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field
representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts.

Qualifications and experience:

Applicants should meet the following criteria:
• 5 years post qualification experience.
• Hands-on experience with electronic testing and circuitry.
• Experience with working on PLCs, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and networks. This
includes troubleshooting and basic programming work.
• Familiar with various tools and equipment related Electronics
• MS Office and diagnostic software.
• N6 / equivalent in Electrical Engineering (heavy / light current) + Electrical Trade
advantageous.

Salary - R650 000 - R750 000pa CTC
