  POSITION INFO:
  The Role:

  We are looking for a Emissions Test Technician for our client in the Automotive Industry based in Port Elizabeth.

   

  • N6 (minimum), Electrical / Mechanical or both
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Valid Driverâ??s Licence

   

   

  Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in working with vehicle emissions testing (advantageous)
  • Scheduling Conducting emission tests on vehicles in co-ordination with Quality Department, other team members, Drivers Technicians
  • Validating test results, approval of test reports and communication of test results
  • Maintain SEDIS database and supply regular reports from the database to Management
  • Maintain operational readiness together with facility engineer for the emission test facility.
  • Implement all QMS system requirements and updates as they are identified
  • Highlight non-conformances and plan corrective actions
  • Compile blank forms and work instructions and procedures as required
  • Manage the Stock levels for special Gasses Fuels required for the operation of the Emission Test Facility (procurement stock levels, shipping, etc)
  • Ensure good housekeeping standards (5S) are followed
  • Ensure daily/weekly and monthly calibration tasks are carried out and results reviewed
  • Reporting any equipment or process deficiencies or potential risks to testing
  • Assisting with facility, maintenance, and development as and when required
  • Assuring high quality standards ISO 17025 are maintained through receiving of training and working to a high standard with clear and complete records and good communication in the team
  • Practical hands on working with sensitive measurement equipment or vehicles
  • Interaction with team members to structure and plan work
  • Understanding of computers, electronics, and networking of devices.
  • Knowledge of emissions measurement equipment will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ISO 9000 / ISO17025
  • Knowledge on vehicle emissions legislation and standards
  • Knowledge on vehicle emission test methods and principles
  • Communication with Volkswagen Germany, German speaking (advantageous)
