Energy Efficiency Superintendent

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Mining Industry has an opportunity available for an Energy Efficiency Superintendent in the North West area.

POSITION INFO:
Education and Experience Requirements:

• 4 year Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree
• 6 years’ relevant experience in industrial energy management, including, but not limited to identification, development, implementation, performance tracking and sustaining of energy management projects
• Certified Energy Manager
• Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (advantageous)
• Knowledge of energy management, energy cost reductions, carbon reduction and alternative energy projects in the smelting and mining environment
• Good understanding of relevant legislation, working knowledge of Eskom systems and project management knowledge

KPAs:

• Liaise and consult with the Company''s Business Units and stakeholders
• Maintain and improve relationships with key stakeholders
• Ensure the Company''s SOP’s, training and standards comply with relevant legislation (Mine Health and Safety Act, Operational Health and Safety Act, etc.) and ensure that standards are update when changes are communicated
• Develop and support energy efficiency-, energy management-, energy cost reduction- and related carbon reducing projects within the Eastern- / Western mining and smelting operations 
• Support the implementation of the Company''s energy strategy
• Support the renewable energy, energy recovery and baseload generation projects
• Measurement and verification support and guidance on projects
• Ensure sustainability on projects after commissioning
