JOB SUMMARY:
An industry leader in the mechanized irrigation sector which is based in the NORTH WEST PROVINCE and within the Potchefstroom area, is recruiting for an experienced and skilled Design Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Salary: R 300 000.00 per annum

Experience
The successful incumbent must possess at least two (2) years’ experience as an engineer in a technical role within irrigation and water hydraulics sector.
Experience with Global Mapper, Modelmaker/Irrimaker and Excel will be advantageous

Formal qualifications

A B.Engineering (B.Eng) degree in Mechanical engineering
Holder of a Project Management Certificate
Valid driving license code 08
Own transport
A valid medical certificate certifying the incumbent’s fitness status to work
Experience within the agricultural sector will be advantageous
Drone licence will be advantageous

Responsibilities

The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing irrigation systems based on the clients’ requirements or needs.
Assessment of the clients’ site and determining the needs
Calculating solutions to address the needs of the client
Making Turnkey designs and quotes
Quoting customers on systems or spares
Presenting quotations to clients
Management projects with specific reference to deliveries and installation
Ensuring installation is done with no faults
After installation and project completing testing the system to ensure that the system is working accordingly
Managing the expectations of the client and ensuring the minimum number of changes are requested within the scope of work
Advising customers on the best systems or parts to invest in
Providing technical support to customers as and when required
Ensuring that the system design falls within the norms of SABI
Making decisions on timelines for projects
Ensuring on time deliveries as per the project timelines
