JOB SUMMARY:
My client in the agriculture sector is seeking an Engineer to design packaging / cartons to get the fresh fruit products safely to the market. This position is based in Pretoria.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:

A degree in engineering
5 - 7 years relevant experience in the design of packaging including new prototypes and testing the product
3 years + experience in paper and or carton manufacturing (not graphic design)
You will be required to travel from time to time

Responsibilities include:

Managing all activities of the Packaging Work Group and providing general and technical assistance.
Facilitate research and development on cost effective packaging
Facilitate evaluation on new packaging material
Arrange Packaging Working Group meetings as required from time to time.
Liaise with all carton manufacturers on continual basis.
Liaise with pallet manufacturers on continual basis.
Update the Packaging Material Specifications and Paletization Protocols
Attend workshops to give feedback on packaging development and research.
Ensure facilitation of packaging related issues in the Citrus industry.
