We’re partnering with a leading automotive manufacturer to secure a sharp, analytical Engineering Data Controller who knows their way around product data, technical changes, BOMs, and global vehicle development processes. If you love translating complex engineering information into clean, correct, and consistent data… this is your stage.
What You’ll Be Driving (Key Responsibilities)
1. Bill of Materials (BOM) Mastery

Build and maintain complex BOMs using technical specs and product descriptions.

Collaborate with local + global design engineers to keep design levels accurate.

Sync with production & logistics to ensure materials align with manufacturing plans.

Conduct weekly BOM consistency checks and fix discrepancies before they become production problems.

Manage change requests, release orders, TULs and statements.
2. Global Data & System Integration

Represent SA engineering teams in international forums (MBT, TI Synchro, Connect, etc.).

Create prototype parts lists and support special build vehicles.
3. MBT System Ownership

Define and maintain PR numbers across vehicle projects.

Drive alignment across sales, logistics, engineering, product data and project teams.

Ensure part validity, technical rule compliance, and correct system integration.

Conduct buildability analyses, vehicle comparisons and support market investigations.
Who You Are
-
A relevant 3-year Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Logistics or IT.
-
5+ years’ data management experience in an automotive environment.
-
A wizard in systems such as: TIS, MBT, AVON, MBV, KVS, Connect, TI-REX, CoRe, COPS.

Able to read & interpret complex technical change documentation.

Strong analytical thinker and problem-solver.
-
Confident communicator who can hold your ground in high-level technical forums.

Solid MS Office skills (advanced Excel = major bonus).

Independent, resilient, pressure-tolerant, and driven.
-
Willing to travel and work flexible hours when required.
Bonus Points For:

Experience writing procedures / work instructions.
-
Knowledge of models, options and systems within the SA automotive landscape.
-
Intermediate German (seriously helpful).
