Introduction A leading retailer based in Cape Town, is looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to join their dynamic team. As an Engineering Lead, you will play a critical role in leading our IT division to maintain and enhance our platforms, ensuring seamless experiences for our customers across all touch points. You will lead a team of talented engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive the strategic direction and execution of our technology initiatives. Leveraging your technical expertise and leadership skills, you will champion innovation, foster a culture of collaboration, and drive measurable business impact. Duties & Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute the technical roadmap, aligning with business objectives and customer needs Drive the design, development, and optimization of our platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security Provide technical guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact and relevance to our business Partner with Product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, driving alignment and execution Implement best practices, processes, and tools to streamline development workflows and improve efficiency Monitor and analyse platform performance metrics, identifying areas for optimization and improvement to enhance the customer experience Desired Experience & Qualification Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Proven experience in software development and technical leadership roles, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve their goals Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices, with hands-on experience in backend and frontend development Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and modern development frameworks\/tools Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for driving technical excellence and innovation Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects TECH STACKS WE USE *Popular but not limited to Languages: C#, Javascript, SQL, Python, Go Frameworks: Angular, React, .NET, .NET Core ORM Tools: Entity Framework, Hibernate Relational Databases: Oracle, MSSql, MySQL Cloud Environments: Azure, AWS Messaging\/Event: Kafka Package & Remuneration R 140 000 CTC pm.
