Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, GCC (Mines & Works),Minimum 10 yearsâ€™ experience in the Mining industry

POSITION INFO:

This is a central role and the successful candidate can be based at any of our client’s regional offices (Welkom, Orkney or Randfontein). This is an E1 position (Engineering Manager / Senior Engineer). Occasional travel will be required as the job entails a combination of office work, team management (at Welkom and Orkney) and oversight at the operations (Randfontein, Carletonville, Orkney, Welkom and Mareetsane). Experience must me mostly underground, and some TMM experience will be advantageous.

Reports to: Executive – Technical Services & Engineering

Roles and responsibilities:

Reliability Engineering – Oversees the Central Reliability Engineer to improve the availability, reliability and operability of equipment and systems
Oversees the Condition Monitoring department, including the management of external skills
Responsibility for the management and potential upgrade of the CMMS (dMS)
Technical oversight of the Design Office
Quality Engineering
- Drafting of standards for Engineering procurement
- Management of team of quality assurers
- Warrantee claims
- Liaison with suppliers
- Inputs into various committees
Mechanical expert
- Consulting Mechanical Engineer for SA Operations
- Oversight of specialist mechanical work in the company
- Consulting on investigations

Location: Either Welkom, Orkney or Randfontein

Job Qualification & Experience:

Minimum Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
GCC (Mines & Works)
Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Mining industry
Training and/or suitable experience in Reliability Engineering principles and Condition Monitoring practices
Good verbal and writing skills in order to engage professionally with external parties.

Advantageous:

Tertiary training in Reliability Engineering
