SUMMARY:
Our client in the Food Manufacturing industry has an opportunity available for an Engineering Manager to be based in the Western Suburbs of Johannesburg.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

B-Eng degree from a reputable South African University (Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic)
Government Certificate of Competency is essential
At least 8 years’ experience in the food manufacturing environment, including plant maintenance and project execution.
Good computer skills in MS office packages (Excel, Projects, PowerPoint), CAD programs and maintenance management system
Strong negotiation skills
Strong Stakeholder management skills
Ability to work autonomously, take decisions, work under pressure and cope with the inherent physical demands of the position

KPAs:

Implement, oversee, and manage the preventative maintenance system and programmes.
Ensure equipment and machinery comply with production requirements, processes, and specifications
Ensure equipment complies to the relevant engineering standards and legislation
Conduct inspections to assess quality of work to enforce adherence to good manufacturing principles in line with standard operating procedures
Responsible for compliance to building regulations, risk reduction programs and projects
Do root cause analysis and fault finding and ensure corrective actions are in place
Oversee and manage engineering stores with optimised inventory levels
Ensure compliance to all legislative laws, food safety and food quality standards and systems
Manage engineering department consisting of artisans, planners, clerks, and other personnel
Manage capital projects in conjunction with site management and central Engineering team
Manage maintenance budgets, capital project costs, monitor expenses (maintenance, special projects and CAPEX) to be within the budget and continually strive to save costs
Liaise with suppliers, contractors to enable an optimised plant.
