SUMMARY:
DBN000183 – Engineering Manager  (Mining) - Tzaneen
 
Purpose of the Job:
To ensure the safety, efficiency, and productivity of a mine's engineering and plant operations through strategic planning, budget management, and compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)
 
Required Qualifications & Experience

1. Engineering Degree/Diploma (Mechanical or Electrical)- With GCC Mine & Works
2. Solid knowledge of the Mone Health & Safety Act
3. Solid knowledge of gold processing plants
4. Must have knowledge of winders and be prepared to work underground
5. Prepared to work stand-by, shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime

POSITION INFO:
Technical Tasks, Competencies & Experience:

1. Managing the overall maintenance strategy for processing plants
2. Define equipment critically using a risk matrix
3. Ensure compliance with & support for the mine’s maintenance processes, strategies & standardisation projects
4. Ensure compliance and safety standards to the MHSA
5. Establish & maintain budget parameters
6. Manage staff to ensure effective & safe Engineering practices
7. Conduct legal inspections and address deviations as per the MHSA & submit reports to management
