Southern Oil Pty Ltd, an established company and market leader in the manufacturing of Canola oil and related products in the retail, food services, and bulk sectors, has the following exciting career opportunity in Swellendam.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Short Summary:

This three-to-four-week opportunity allows third-year Engineering students to gain real work experience in a fast-growing manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

Supports the assigned Engineering department with day-to-day tasks.
Prepares documents, spreadsheets, presentations, interoffice correspondence and copies.
Conducts correspondence and follow-ups in a detailed fashion.
Proactive in forwarding work issues to the appropriate Managers and Supervisors.
Handle multiple assignments and works well within deadlines.

Key Competencies:

Education and Experience

Undergraduate student in one of the following disciplines:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering

Technical Abilities:

Interest in an applied Engineering Technology career in a technology or manufacturing business
Current bachelor’s degree student in computer science or related field
Understand the core object-oriented programming design principles (Encapsulation, Inheritance, Polymorphism)
Current undergraduate student studying Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering or a related field
Excellent communication and writing skills
Document preparation and reporting are essential to the job
