SUMMARY:
My client is seeking a Training and Development Manager to join their team and lead the training department. MUST come from the Mining Industry with empasis on Engineering Training and Development. Person must reside or willing to relocate to Welkom/Orkney/Fochville/Randfontein.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources Development Management or equivalent
  • Previous Engineering T&D Manager experience / appointment
  • Previous experience in Mining Industry is a MUST!
  • Ability to communicate equally well at Executive or shop floor level
  • Analytical skills
  • Report writing and presentation skills
  • Medical Certificate of Fitness
  • English proficiency
  • Advanced Computer literacy (MS Office; Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Minimum of 10 years discipline specific experience
  • Undergo psychometric assessment

Roles & Responsibilities

  • To lead and manage the Engineering Training & Development team to ensure we continuously develop a pipeline of competent, confident and motivated employees to fulfil the company staffing requirements and totally embrace our Safety and Production goals.
  • Participate and contribute as a member of critical committees to ensure Harmony stays in touch and proactively align ourselves to Industry best practice.
  • Develop action plans to implement Engineering-specific T&D Strategic Plans.
  • Check and ensure alignment between job competency requirements and employee competency prior to placement. (Manage and update Artisan Critical Skills Matrix)
  • Evaluate training trends/initiatives and make recommendations on improvements and monitor implementation of best practices.
  • Manage and control of allocated Engineering Training & Development budgets.
  • Ensure revision and updating of learning material depending on the need.
  • Manage and ensure the quality of all Engineering Training and Development initiatives.
  • Manage and facilitate talent pipeline and career development panels for Engineering Bursars; Junior Engineers and Engineers  
  • Ensure integrity of Training and Development information on Electronic systems.
  • Reports to the Executive – Technical Services & Engineering
