Engineering - Winder Foreman Mechanical

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Mining Industry has an opportunity available for a Winder Foreman - Mechanical in the Rustenburg area.

POSITION INFO:
Education and Experience Requirements:

• Recognized relevant Trade qualification (section 13/26D) is essential OR
• Proof of recognised completed apprenticeship contract (completed by means of effluxion of time) AND
• NTC 2 (Relevant Trade Theory) Qualification is essential
• Minimum of 5 years working experience as a winder artisan is essential
• Completion of Winder modules is essential
• Computer literacy (MS Office package & SAP) is essential
• Valid Medical Certificate, or medically fit in order to obtain such a certificate
• Legal knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act and Regulations is essential
• Experience and working knowledge of Chairlifts & Monorail systems will be an advantage
• Good experience and working knowledge of maintenance and operation of:
  o Vertical shafts & winding plants
  o winding ropes & conveyances
  o silo & bulkhead structures
  o shaft ore-handling systems
  o conveyor systems
  o surface main fans
  o multi-stage pumps
  o dirty water settlers
  o change houses & hot water calorifiers

KPAs:

• Supervise mechanical maintenance activities
• Attend to callouts with regards to mechanical breakdowns
• Maintain control of Engineering workshop and stores
• Design basic mechanical components, pneumatic and hydraulic circuits
• Diagnose and repair faults on equipment and machinery in operation
• Analyse breakdowns to identify the root cause
• Commission and assemble machinery and equipment
• Compile technical reports, method statements and risk assessments
