SUMMARY:
Environmental, Social&Governance Associate

POSITION INFO:

Our client is currently on the hunt for an Environmental, Social & Governance an Associate to join their dynamic team.

Duties and Responsibilities.

*Develop and implement fund ESG monitoring strategy.
*Monitor and ensure adherence to ESG practices and investee corrective action plans as well as transformation plans.
*Provide input on ESG reporting requirements and queries from Limited Partners and Investee companies.
*Develop and implement due diligence questionnaires and guidelines.
*Develop and implement knowledge management tools.
*Develop, implement and oversee ESG knowledge management process.
*Drive improvement in ESG and Impact management, performance, and reporting within investment teams and
at an aggregate business level.
*Collaborate with stakeholders in developing ESG policies, guidelines, and frameworks.
*Prepare and present ESG outcomes and status updates on portfolio companies.
*Ensure ESG factors and principles are built into investment decision-making.
*Ensure timely and quality reporting to limited partners as well as internal decision-making bodies.
*Train internal and external personnel on ESG strategy and principles.
*Maintain visibility throughout the broader organization on the ESG and Impact performance of the business and
portfolio as well as serve as the business’s advocate internally for communicating this key value.
*Support investment teams in their engagement with external stakeholders on ESG and Impact matters, including reporting and inputs into fundraising documentation, press releases, and thought leadership pieces.
*Support investment teams in ensuring that ESG and Impact rights are adequately embedded into legal agreements, including ESG and Impact action plans (where appropriate).
*Support investment teams in responding to significant ESG incidents that may arise and ensure that Executive.
*Management and investors are informed of significant incidents, as appropriate and in a timely manner.

KEY SKILLS

*Understanding of broad ESG regulatory frameworks in various sectors.
*Understanding of good corporate governance principles.
*Social impact assessments.
*Portfolio monitoring fundamentals.
*Strong understanding of ESG due diligence frameworks.
*Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
*Strong research capabilities.
*Good presentation skills.
*Detail orientation.
*A self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS

*Degree in Business, Finance, Social, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Developmental studies, Economics
and any other relevant degree.
*MBA/MBL/CFA Advantageous.
*Min 5 years experience in similar ESG role within a financial institution (PE Firm, Investment Banking, Asset
Management).
*Strong command of the ESG subject matter and landscape and able to demonstrate sector expertise.
*Demonstrable work experience in sustainable, impact, or responsible investing.<br>
*A keen understanding of ESG matters and knowledge of how companies manage and report on ESG issues.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential and experience in communicating
with senior executives and external stakeholders is desirable.
*Highly motivated, organized, and disciplined in managing workflows.
*Ability to function well in a diverse team.
*Able to analyze and present data in a structured and consistent manner.
