Examination Assistant

Purpose of the job

To provide administrative support to the Examinations Manager and Examinations Administrator to ensure that the examinations are operationally delivered professionally and to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling and Planning: Assist with the setting of the examination timetable and scheduling relevant meetings with the examination and management teams to ensure that timelines are met in concluding the assessment of online examinations.
• Contract administration: Provide administration support for the selection, contracting and payment of volunteers appointed to the examination teams ensuring completeness of returns and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
• Logistics: Manage the logistics and administration of question papers and/or candidate scripts between invigilators, candidates, and the examination teams in line with education governance standards.
• Incident management: Investigate and report on examination incidents as received from various stakeholders in line with the risk appetite set by the Board of Examiners.
• General administration: Perform general administration duties that include but is not limited to ensuring that candidates with special needs are administered in accordance with the approved concessions granted and governance standards; support the administration of examination incident and counselling management and grading candidate results for the purpose of academic record-keeping and the upload of candidate letters onto the database.

Minimum Requirements

•  Matric certificate with a preference for a post matric qualification.
•  Minimum of five years’ experience in general or education administration.
• Experience within a well-governed institutional examination environment.
• Affluent in MS Office particularly Excel and Word.
• Tech savvy and able to navigate across multiple systems applications.
• Must have a driver’s license and have own transport.
