A remote luxury tented camp set along a in Namibia's Zambezi Region is seeking an experienced and hands-on EXECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER to lead its housekeeping and laundry operations.
POSITION INFO:
The property is within a wildlife-rich national park known for its elephant migration corridor. This is a senior, all-encompassing role for someone who thrives on structure and high standards in a remote lodge setting. You'll take full ownership of housekeeping and laundry across guest accommodation, public areas, back-of-house, and staff quarters, while managing budgets, stock, and a team that delivers consistently at a luxury level. Core Criteria: Minimum 4-6 years' housekeeping experience within luxury hospitality or safari lodge environments At least 2 years' supervisory or management experience Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Housekeeping Operations, or related field preferred Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures, laundry operations, budgeting, and hygiene standards Experience in inventory management and departmental cost control Excellent leadership and organisational skills Computer literacy, with experience using housekeeping reporting systems advantageous Experience in remote lodge operations advantageous Core Responsibilities: Manage the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, laundry facilities, offices, and staff accommodation meet exceptional standards of cleanliness and presentation Conduct regular quality inspections and prepare rooms according to occupancy schedules and guest preferences Coordinate daily cleaning schedules, deep cleaning programmes, and turnaround priorities Oversee all laundry operations, including guest laundry, uniforms, and linen processing, ensuring efficient and consistent service Monitor linen handling, storage, and replacement schedules, and maintain laundry equipment Prepare and manage the departmental budget, monitor expenses, and implement cost-control measures Manage inventory of cleaning materials, guest amenities, linen, uniforms, and laundry supplies, including procurement and stocktaking Control waste and breakages, and track budget performance Ensure guest comfort through personalised room presentation and prompt handling of requests Coordinate VIP setups, honeymoon arrangements, and special occasion amenities Supervise, train, and develop housekeeping and laundry staff, including scheduling and rostering Maintain staff grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards Conduct performance evaluations and ongoing coaching This is a live-in position.
