We are currently recruiting for an Executive Manager: Business Development and Commercial Relations. This role can be based in either JHB (Braamfontein) or Cape Town (CBD). Higher Education, Skills Development, Youth development sector exposure will be ideal for this role.

You will be devoted to providing exceptional leadership as well as developing and implementing commercial strategies that establish and sustain meaningful relationships with existing and future stakeholders to ensure commercial success. The main aim of this strategic commercial role is to promote business growth and market share by developing and leading marketing, sales, commercial product development, fund raising, customer service and candidate absorption activities across a diverse stakeholder group. In order to thrive you will have extensive knowledge of the Digital Skills development ecosystem, along with proven revenue generation success.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A tertiary qualification - degree or equivalent desirable in Commerce, Business, Communication or similar
  • Extensive Strategic acumen with the ability to spot, adapt and commercialise opportunities for job creation or revenue generation.
  • Prior experience as a Business Relationship Executive, ideally in a training, youth development or Skills organization
  • Financial acumen with the ability to create, interpret and analyse financial reports and sales plans.
  • Experience and confidence with Management Information and Reporting
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to mentor, coach, lead, develop and evaluate staff.
  • Proven ability to secure, develop and manage relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Investigate the needs of the customer and articulate the value of products and solutions in meeting those needs via written proposals, online and face to face meetings and smart marketing initiatives.
  • Extensive negotiating and problem-solving skills
  • Understand Digital skills market demand and able to align digital skills development solutions to meet market or funder outcomes.
  • In depth knowledge of Education, Training, and academic landscape, with extensive knowledge of B-BBEE/SETA/Skills Development Plans preferred
  • Ability to be collaborative and to encourage collaboration across internal teams.
  • Risk management, communication and business acumen skills
  • Excellent writing, speaking and presenting skills at executive level.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a self-starter with a hunger to excel.
  • Deliver high quality, industry leading outputs that are market leading.
  • Strong brand ambassador
  • Passionate about youth unemployment, IT Skills Development or catalytic change initiatives
  • Ability to conclude contractual negotiations.
  • Strong, decisive leader who is a natural team builder and motivator.
  • High level of competency in digital tools, including MS Offices, particularly Word, Excel.
  • An articulate and engaging communicator and networker
  • Ability to work in an agile, changing environment with high individual accountability and resilience.
  • Affinity for the digital value chain
  • Design orientation (systems, products, ways of working etc.)
