Executive Manager: Legal, Compliance & Governance

To provide strategic direction and leadership to the Legal Function as well as provide sound legal advice to the company on all legal matters. 

The Key Performance Areas will encompass:

• Drive implementation of the Legal and Compliance Services strategy
• Overseeing of operations of the business unit
• Manage the provision of sound legal advice and litigation support to the Department
• Manage the provision legislative services and contracts management to the Department
• Performance Management and Compliance
• Resource optimisation
• Advocacy- professional team building

Minimum requirements:

• LLB and Admitted Attorney
• 10 years’ experience in commercial contract, company law, property law and commercial litigation. Preferable an admitted notary and conveyancer.
• 5 years in the Senior Management role.

Must possess the following competencies:

• Advanced understanding of corporate governance principles
• Understanding of inter-governmental relations
• Understanding of inter-governmental relations
• Labour legislation (incl. LRA, EE, BCEA etc.)
• Collective Bargaining Process knowledge
• Knowledge of commercial contract, company law, property law and commercial litigation
