POSITION INFO:
This is not a conventional guiding position - it's a hands-on, off-grid role combining youth development, community engagement, and conservation facilitation across multi-phase wilderness expeditions. Ideal for someone who thrives in remote, physically demanding environments and is as comfortable mentoring young people as they are managing camp logistics. Core Criteria: FGASA \/ CATHSSETA nature site guide qualification Valid First Aid Certificate Valid PDP South African citizen or valid right to work in South Africa Experience in youth development or volunteer management advantageous Knowledge of Lowveld ecology and conservation practices advantageous Strong practical bush or maintenance skills advantageous Experience in community engagement or environmental education advantageous Confident, adaptable, and comfortable working across varied environments Willing and able to live off-grid, including tented accommodation, communal living, and physically demanding conditions Candidate Responsibilities: Facilitate community, conservation, and environmental projects Lead, manage, and support youth groups throughout expedition phases Provide pastoral care and drive youth development outcomes Deliver community and environmental education Support trek and adventure phase operations Assist with camp logistics and expedition operations Maintain participant safety and uphold organisational standards On Offer: Salary: R10,000 - R12,000 per month, dependent on experience Live-in position Based in the Hoedspruit area, Limpopo Start date: 5 October 2026
