SUMMARY:
Client in the Financial Industry requires the services of an External Audit: Quality and Risk Specialist in Pretoria as soon as possible

POSITION INFO:

Brief Description of this Job


To uphold quality standards and ensure effective risk management. To provide support services to directors and staff as well as clients of the firm. Ensuring that support is provided in time and within expected time limits, through effective and efficient people and other resources management.


Application Requirements


ï‚· CA (SA)
ï‚· Computer Literate (MS Office)
ï‚· Demonstrate strong technical knowledge
ï‚· Keeping abreast of technical updates and legislation changes
ï‚· Report writing


Skills and experience


ï‚· At least 3-5 years working experience in a similar type industry
ï‚· Knowledge of IFRS, IFRS for SMEs required
ï‚· Knowledge of JSE listing requirements required
ï‚· Knowledge of GRAP required
ï‚· Knowledge of international auditing standards and ethical requirements


Key Responsibilities


Quality Control


- Perform engagement quality control reviews
- Perform internal quality monitoring reviews
- Review appropriateness of audit opinions
- Review compliance with auditing standards
- Implementation of the quality control standards


Audit Methodology


- Develop and update working paper templates
- Develop and update compliance checklists
- Develop and update internal manuals and guides
- Development of accounting and legislative application guides


Training


- Develop training courses / workshop sessions
- Present training to staff
- Development of training-related policies and procedures
- Mark simulation tests completed by trainees (as required)

Consultation and support services


- Perform research on accounting and auditing matters and new standards
- Provide guidance on the application of Companies Act legislation
- Attend client/audit committee meetings for discussion of technical matters (as required)
- Liaise with technical support service clients
- Provide ad-hoc technical advisory services to directors and staff
- Provide technical opinions on accounting matters
- Perform technical reviews on Annual Financial Statements


Communications


- Research topical issues for inclusion in technical directives
- Write-up of technical proposals
- Write technical opinions/reports
- Provide guidance and mentoring to technical staff
- Provide feedback to Technical Director
- Write-up of articles as required
