POSITION INFO:

Join us in creating an eCommerce team that will reinvent online shopping across Africa.

 

An organisation with 35 million customers, 2500 outlets are digitally transforming their business, and in doing so, are looking for highly talented people to join our eCommerce team and shape the face of online shopping in Africa.

 

The purpose of the role is to ensure rigorous ongoing divisional planning, management and implementation of programme and project orientated frameworks to deliver on operational initiatives and imperatives in support of strategic drivers and ambitions laid out by the eCommerce team. The role is accountable for formulating and maintaining an overarching eCommerce delivery plan in the form of a cost-monitored eCommerce roadmap - within a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.

 

  • The purpose of the role is to build, lead and consolidate the overarching digital commerce plan and roadmap to ensure the delivery takes place within all time, cost and quality parameters. 
  • Accountable for master plan updates and modifications and redirecting activities as necessary.  
  • Align the eCommerce roadmap to other cross-functional areas in the business to ensure that all dependencies are identified and scheduled to optimise company delivery.
  • Collaborate and facilitate decisions to manage critical dependencies, resolve conflicts and mitigate risks.
  • Devise agile ways of working that enable rapid and responsive changes to the specific project and sub-project deliverables
  • Responsible for adequately monitoring, controlling, and reporting financial aspects of the overarching programme and respective project plans.
  • Build a strong technical understanding of the overall digital commerce solution across multiple stakeholders 
  • Strong level of partnership and collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Coordination and excellent communication between all key stakeholders. Understanding, aligning and communicating the business objectives, technical scope and resource requirements of the roadmap 
  • Present and/or report to various stakeholders the divisional performance status and/or information about specific programmes and/or projects. 
  • Remain up-to-date with the latest global digital eCommerce strategies, techniques and technologies and ensure ongoing knowledge building of self and the broader team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Business Management/Administration, IT and/or Project Management related certificate(s) (required).
  • At least 5 years relevant experience in a Retail eCommerce environment in an operational/ tactical decision-making capacity, with a deep understanding of the evolving eCommerce business (essential). Of which 1-2 years should be in a Programme or Project Manager capacity and include experience working in cross-functional teams (essential).
