Salary: R35 000 per month + 13th Cheque + Provident Fund
A well-established retail and footwear business based in Midrand is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Footwear Developer & Quality Controller to join their team. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in footwear development, quality assurance, supplier management, and product innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage footwear and accessory development from concept through to final production approval.
- Develop seasonal product ranges aligned with market trends and brand requirements.
- Approve materials, colourways, trims, branding applications, packaging, and product specifications.
- Conduct trend analysis, competitor research, and product innovation initiatives.
- Utilize AI image generation and editing tools to create product concepts, renderings, colour variations, and presentation materials.
- Perform Pre-Production, Pre-Bulk, and Bulk Quality Assurance inspections.
- Identify, report, and resolve quality concerns with suppliers.
- Monitor production timelines and ensure all development milestones are achieved.
- Maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Prepare development reports, approval logs, inspection reports, and quality documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Buying, Warehouse, Management, and QA teams to ensure successful product delivery.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven experience in Footwear Development, Merchandising, and/or Quality Assurance.
- Strong understanding of footwear construction, materials, manufacturing processes, and fit requirements.
- Experience managing footwear development from concept to production.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Advanced Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop skills.
- Advanced experience using AI image generation and image editing platforms.
- Ability to create realistic product renderings, concept developments, and visual presentations.
- Strong planning, organizational, and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and supplier management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
