FOREST MANAGER

Forest Manager

Reporting to the resources executive, the successful incumbent is responsible to manage all the relevant Foresters to a level they manage the regions resources, to ensure that the highest returns on assets managed on a sustainable basis are achieved. The ideal incumbent will be responsible for the management of contractors, plantation management as well as the forestation in the area.

Position Specifications:

• A minimum of a National Diploma in Forestry or a BSc degree in Forestry or a B Tech Degree.
• 10 years practical experience in forest management
• Vast knowledge and experience in Silvicultural and harvesting operations
• Knowledge of the Sawmill industry will be an added advantage

• Must have strong management and leadership skills
• Must have high levels of integrity, passion for work, excellence and success
• Must be highly computer literate and be able to pay attention to detail.
• Have tenacity and able to coach, guide and mentor
• Must be an excellent communicator at all levels
  

The Company offers a market related salary on a TGRP basis, provident fund, medical aid and an option to structure an annual bonus.
