A well-established organisation operating in the oil & gas industry is seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst to strengthen its finance team through a 12-month fixed-term contract. Why join this team? This role sits at the heart of financial planning, forecasting, reporting and business partnering, enabling informed decision-making and sustainable value creation across the business You'll work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful performance insights, challenge thinking, influence decisions and identify opportunities to improve profitability, cash generation and overall business performance This is an opportunity for a proactive, analytically minded professional to act as a trusted advisor to the business, translating data into insights and helping to shape strategic and operational outcomes What you will be doing: Coordinate and support annual business planning, monthly forecasting and performance reporting processes Analyse financial and operational performance, identifying key trends, risks, opportunities and performance drivers Deliver accurate, insightful reporting and variance analysis to support business decision-making and performance management Partner with business stakeholders to improve profitability, margin delivery, cost management, working capital efficiency and cash generation Support the evaluation of commercial initiatives, strategic opportunities, investments and projects through financial analysis, modelling and business case review and challenge Conduct post-investment reviews (PIRs) and project lookbacks to assess performance, identify lessons learned and improve future decision-making Perform root cause analysis on performance variances and support the development of corrective actions where required Analyse customer, product, channel, terminal and value chain profitability to identify value creation opportunities Drive continuous improvement in planning, forecasting, reporting, data governance and business performance management processes Provide ad hoc analysis and decision support aligned to business priorities and leadership requirements What we are looking for: Qualifications & Experience CA (SA) or CIMA qualification 3+ years' work experience in a financial or management reporting role Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis and business partnering Skills & Knowledge Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business performance drivers Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable business insights Strong stakeholder engagement and business partnering capability Ability to produce high-quality analysis, recommendations and presentations Experience working with large data sets and complex business environments Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint SAP, SAC, Power BI and financial modelling experience advantageous Personal Attributes Flexible and resilient, able to adapt quickly in a dynamic and evolving business environment Confident and driven, with a strong problem-solving orientation and proactive approach to challenges Comfortable with complexity, able to navigate ambiguity and provide clarity through structured analysis Continuous learner, with willingness and capacity to acquire new skills and knowledge Improvement mindset, consistently seeking opportunities to refine processes and enhance outcomes Collaborative approach, with strong ability to work effectively across functions and build trusted partnerships Benefits and unique aspects: Direct exposure to senior stakeholders and strategic decision-making Involvement in high-impact commercial initiatives, post-investment reviews and business case evaluations Broad exposure across customer, product, channel and value chain profitability analysis A dynamic, fast-paced environment suited to professionals who thrive on complexity and continuous improvement Please note if you haven't heard back from us within two weeks of submitting your application, unfortunately your application has not been successful this time.
