POSITION INFO:

We are seeking an experienced Fabrication & Blasting Supervisor to oversee raw materials management, stock control, and production efficiency in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with quality standards, optimize resource utilization, and lead a team of shotblast/paint operators.

Requirements:

NQF Level 5/6 in Engineering or BTech Mechanical
3+ years in fabrication/industrial manufacturing (mining sector preferred)
2+ years in production planning/supervision and process flow optimization
Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, and SAP (advantageous)
Knowledge of welding, cutting processes, and TQM/5S methodologies

Key Responsibilities

Implement systems to improve fabrication efficiency and productivity
Monitor raw material usage (scrap rates, finished goods weight, rejects) and reconcile stock (Hardox, MS plate, aluminium)
Issue raw materials to prevent production delays and maintain accurate inventory records
Collate and verify daily production data (job cards, quality inspections)
Track mould availability/effectiveness and adherence to trimming/packing schedules
Submit weekly reports on material usage, operator performance, and waste (spew/off-cuts)
Recruit, train, and supervise fabrication employees
Ensure compliance with SHEQ policies (OHSA Section 14) and quality management systems
