Factory Manager – UHT Plant - Cape Town

SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for a Factory Manager to join their team in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town

POSITION INFO:

Job Specification

Plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of the production and stores facilities, inclusive of formulating and implementing policies

Managing daily operations

Managing full utilisation of plant equipment, raw materials, and people meeting customer specifications

Wet plant – Food – Short shelf life experience

Knowledge of Product and Process

Process Engineering/Mechanical

Plant capacity and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)

Budget Management

Personnel and human resources practices

Production and processing

World Class Manufacturing practices and models

Basic accounting, Mathematics

Administration Management

Audit Compliance, ISO, HACCP, OSH Act, GMP

Stores and stock management principles

Managing and leading teams towards high performance

Implementation of World Class and Lean Manufacturing processes and structures

Project Management

Apply strategic thinking to the factory and stores operations

Produce documented Plans and develop effective production planning tools and methods

Maintain Optimum Finished Goods stock Levels

Manage change plans

Communication, Preplanning and detailed daily planning

Development of production monitoring systems and tools and monitor and review Utilisation and Productivity performance

Manage downtime and production loss incidents effectively

Identify and implement Productivity improvements

Apply 5S principles

Coordination of all production support functions (Stores, Quality, Procurement and maintenance) to optimise production performance

Develop Production Procedures and assist with the Development of Quality and Food Safety systems and culture

Conduct Audits and manage findings

Manage and control Production and Stores responsibilities with respect to Preventative Maintenance. (factory and stores)

HSE Risk Assessments, Auditing, Safety Observation and inspection of area and equipment

Leadership role in promoting SHE awareness and reviewing of performance

Manage and ensure training and development of resources

Minimum Requirements

Diploma/Degree in Production Management or Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering

Management Diploma Project Management Certificate or Training 

6 - 7 years (3 – 5 yrs within management)
