Factory Manager

POSITION INFO:

Plan, direct and coordinate operations of the production and stores facilities

Manage daily operations and full utilization of plant equipment, raw materials and people meeting customers specificions

Apply strategic thinking to the factory and stores operations

Produce documented plan and develop effective production planning tools and methods

Maintain optimum finished goods stock levels

Manage changes to plan

Do daily planning, management, and communication to staff

Development of production monitoring systems and tools and monitor and review utilization and productivity

Manage downtime and production loss incidents effectively

Identify and implement productivity improvements

Coordinate all production and support functions (stores, quality, procurement and maintenance) to optimize performance

Ordering of stock as well as manage sales

Stock control

Monitor and ensure quality and production documentation

Develop production procedures and assist with development of quality and Food Safety Systems and culture

Conduct audits and manage findings

Monitor and ensure adherence to cleaning schedules and SOPs as per factory requirements

Manage factory and stores controllable costs

Maintenance planning

Make employees aware of the specific production and stores safety procedures and systems

Emergency control for factory and stores

Setup of effective teams and managing teams

Manage performance of individuals

Manage and ensure training and development of resources

Workforce planning

Skills & Experience:

Minimum of 7-12 years’ experience (at least 4 years in Management)

Experience within the FMCG industry and food safety

Knowledge of product and process, process Engineering, plant capacity and equipment effectiveness, budget.

Experience with HR, Basic Accounting, world class manufacturing practices, ISO, HACCP, OSH, Act, GMP

Experience with stock management principles

Management skills

Lean manufacturing experience

Project Management skills

Experience with budget development and management

Qualification:

Diploma/Degree in Production Management or Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering

Management Diploma ADV

Project Management Certificate or Diploma ADV
