Factory Manager- Chemicals

SUMMARY:
My client, a leading manufacturer and distributor of industrial chemicals, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced factory manager to join their team in Port Elizabeth.

POSITION INFO:

Mimimum Requirements:

• Candidate must be a non-smoker (Not negotiable)
• Must have driving license (Code 10 advantage)
• Must have relevant tertiary education
• Must be computer literate
• Must be able to make calls
• Must have a reliable way of getting to work
• ISO 9001 experience a distinct advantage
• Being conversant in Xhosa a distinct advantage

Overview:

The candidate will be part of the Senior Management team.  They will work closely with the Operations Manager ensuring the smooth running of production, dispatching and receiving.  They will oversee manufacturing and work directly with the Foreman to oversee product labelling, ensuring the use of serialized seals were necessary and that all products that leave the premises comply with the set standards as per the quality management system. 

Attributes:

Be meticulous, have an eye for detail and be able to work in a close knit team.  As this is not a desk bound job and requires constant walking and checking the candidate must have the energy.

Duties:

Production Planning with Operations Manager

Overseeing production plan implementation

Checking loading and dispatching of finished products and raw materials

Improving processes and systems

Stock checks

Ensure:

• Correct labelling and packaging are used by production staff
• Raw products are stored correctly 
• Factory equipment and empties are stored in there allocated places
• Factory cleanliness is maintained
• Factory staff are doing their jobs
• Vehicles and forklifts are clean and compliant
• Prioritize maintenance and execute timeously

Health and Safety compliance / enforcing

Salary up to R20000 per month dependent on experience.
