The Farm Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of all
maintenance activities across allocated farm operations. This role ensures that all equipment, machinery, utilities,
and infrastructure are maintained in a safe, reliable, and cost-effective manner to support uninterrupted poultry
production.
The position provides leadership to the maintenance team, develops and enforces preventative maintenance
programs, manages breakdown response, and ensures compliance with safety, and company standards. The Farm
Maintenance Manager works closely with farm production, electrical, and procurement teams to align
maintenance activities with operational requirements.

Duties:
Equipment & Infrastructure Reliability
- Maximise uptime and reliability of all farm equipment, machinery, utilities, and buildings.
- Oversee maintenance of allocated sheds, including feeders,drinkers, cages, winches, fans, brooders, pumps, augers and conveyors.
Preventative Maintenance Management
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensure routine inspection, servicing, and replacement schedules are followed across all sites.
Breakdown Response & Troubleshooting
- Ensure rapid and effective response to breakdowns and emergencies.
- Provide root-cause analysis for recurring or significant issues.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs and reports.
- Analyse data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, supervise and develop maintenance team members.
- Assign daily and long-term work schedules.
- Recruit, train, appraise, mentor and discipline staff as required.
- Audit maintenance work to ensure quality and compliance.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure full compliance with WHS, building codes, electrical standards, and fire/biosecurity regulations.
- Lead safety and risk assessments across all technical departments and ensure safe work practices are embedded in daily operations.
Requirements:
- Qualified engineer, electrician, or trade mechanic.
- 7-10 years experience in maintenance, preferably in commercial farming, manufacturing or industrial operations.
- Project management qualification or experience preferred.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
