JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client in the Citrus Farming industry is looking to employ a Farm Manager, based in Kirkwood.

Requirements:

Agricultural degree / diploma is highly advantageous but not a requirement.
5 + years’ experience in a supervisory position on farm.
Citrus farming experience (lemons, oranges etc) – this is non-negotiable.
Computer literate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the daily operational management, supervision and control of all farming processes, with the aim of achieving the agreed business objectives.
Fertilizer program, application, stocks and timing.
Chemical program, application, stock and timing.
Yield estimates.
Fruit harvest, timing, staff and equipment.
Irrigation. Moisture control, scheduling, ordering of water and maintenance of equipment.
H and S.
Pruning plan and execution.
Budgets.
General farm operations, herbicide, bush cutting, road maintenance.
Head count.
All equipment and collaboration with maintenance department.
