Farming Operations and Project Manager

SUMMARY:

An established agricultural seed production company is seeking an well-experienced candidate to manage technical operations at the company and projects within Southern Africa, ensuring the smooth running of their primary agricultural activities.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a tertiary qualification in agriculture or horticulture
• Minimum 15 years’ experience in Agriculture, especially intensive crops will be required
• Good knowledge of agrochemicals and fertiliser application is essential
• Must have experience in the production and management of intensive crops
• Experience in hydroponic greenhouse production would be an added advantage

• Participating actively in the development and management of primary agricultural activities.
• Developing and implementing budgets and strategic business plans.
• Investigating and initiating new sustainable projects to grow the company.
• Manage all HR functions and related activities on the farm.
• Developing the technical ability to manage horticultural crops.
• Generating, delivering and presenting reports weekly and monthly to Senior Management.
• Performing administrative tasks as well as technical tasks efficiently and timely.
• Investigating, initiate and develop new projects in other areas (Southern Africa).
